About the Author
Jim McAllister founded
Derby Square Tours in 1983. He has written two walking tours of the city, revived
the Lyceum Lecture Series, taught Elderhostel courses, and served as a consultant
to the city and the Hawthorne Hotel. He is coauthor of Salem: Cornerstones of
a Historic City.
Racket Shreve (illustrator)
graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1968 with a B.F.A. in illustration.
His work runs the gamut from traditional marine watercolors to ribald pen-and-ink
drawings.
